Overseas Teachers joining Solo Teachers
Solo Teachers welcome teachers from across the globe but we do want to offer all teachers some points of advice before they decide to pack up and move to the UK for a new and exciting life.
EU Members:
If you are from within the European Union then you do not require a Visa and you are permitted to teach in the UK. However, a teaching qualification that is recognised in the UK is essential in obtaining work regularly.
Commonwealth Nations:
If you are under the age of 31 years, then you are allowed to acquire a Working Holiday Visa. This enables you to work in the UK for 2 years. You can however only apply for this once in your life.
If you are over the age of 31 years, then you need to secure a full Work Permit. You are only able to apply for a Work Permit once you have secured a full time teaching position in the UK. It is something that we will sort out for you before you arrive and we will tell you of any restrictions that may terminate your application to Solo Teachers.
Outside of the EU and the Commonwealth:
If you are outside of the EU and the Commonwealth, you will need to get a work permit. This is possible when you have a full time position here in the UK. Once again, this is something that we will sort out for you from here. Please also seek advice and help from your government before you arrive in the UK as restrictions may apply.
